Kuwait has a well maintained system of roads, covering all parts of the country. With the good connectivity of roads, petrol being cheap and the road signs displayed in both English and Arabic, expats in Kuwait find it relatively easy to drive in the city. Driving in Kuwait is illegal without a valid driving license and vehicle permission from the government.

  • Using Mobile phones while on drive is strictly prohibited
  • Drivers are required to carry the documents always such as the valid driving license, registration documents, and the insurance documents.
  • Petrol stations usually open from 7am to 9pm in major cities and on the highways it opens 24 hours.
  • Making a right turn on a red light is not permitted unless there is a special lane to do so with a yield sign.
  • Children under 10 years of age are not allowed to travel in the front seat.
  • Seat belt is mandatory for all the passengers
